Philippe Collotte Chambolle-Musigny vieilles vignes (2022)
1.5L / Chambolle-Musigny, Burgundy / France
Philippe Collotte's Chambolle-Musigny vieilles vignes 2022, bottled in magnum, is an old-vine Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits village prized for the most perfumed, silky reds in Burgundy.
The nose is fragrant and floral, with red cherry, rose petal and a fine, silty minerality typical of Chambolle. On the palate it's elegant rather than powerful, with fine, velvety tannin and bright acidity carrying real length, finishing with that same perfumed lift.
Old vines bring extra concentration here without pushing the wine toward weight - Chambolle's natural elegance stays front and centre.
Pour it with roast chicken, duck breast, or a mushroom risotto. It also suits salmon and other richer fish surprisingly well.
Drinking beautifully from 2026 and with real potential to develop through to the mid-2030s.
