The Castagna Chardonnay 2023 is the estate's flagship white, biodynamically farmed on Beechworth's granite slopes and among the most respected cool-climate chardonnays in Victoria.

White peach and grapefruit lead, layered with a flinty, mineral complexity that comes through clearly on a wine of this seriousness. The palate is textural and long, with judicious oak framing rather than dominating the fruit.

2023 gave the site good natural acidity, and this wine carries real tension alongside its richness.

Pair it with roast chicken, a rich seafood dish, or firm white fish.

Drinking well now, with the structure to develop over the next five to seven years.
