The Hartford Court Three Jacks Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 is a single-vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay with a fuller, rounder profile than many of its stablemates in this range, favouring generosity over tension. It shows the more textural side of the Hartford Court style, built for those who prefer body over cut.

Yellow peach, pear and a touch of honeysuckle sit on the nose, riper than a citrus-driven style. The palate carries real weight, orchard fruit generous and rounded through the mid-palate, without tipping into heaviness or losing its sense of shape.

Texture is the defining feature here: broad and almost creamy, with acidity present but secondary to the fruit, giving a long, warm, fruit-driven finish that lingers comfortably.

It suits roast pork, a creamy pasta or a simple dish of buttered corn and herbs. Roast turkey or a simple baked ham would suit it well too, and it holds its own alongside richer seafood as well.

It is drinking generously now and should hold well for the next two to three years without losing its roundness.
