Geoff Weaver Wines Lenswood Sauvignon Blanc (2018)

750mL / Adelaide Hills, SA / Australia

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Geoff Weaver Lenswood Sauvignon Blanc is a lively, tightly structured wine but with a generous, supple mid palate and a fine, long savoury finish.

Pale straw in colour with a light green tinge.

Lifted aroma of pear, cut grass and hints of flowers. Fresh, fragrant and complex. Nothing heavy or vegetal.

A palate of fresh fruit with a lively, juicy richness on the palate and a lingering, fresh acid edge to the finish. Full, long and delicate.

Winemaking:

Crush, destem, gently air bag press.

Clear settle juice and cold ferment to dryness.

No need for additions of acid (which is so common in Australia) - Geoff Weaver Wines have the approach to make the wine as naturally as possible with minimal additions.

The fresh aromatics of the fruit are retained and, with gentle air bag pressing, harsh extractives are not generated.

About Geoff Weaver Wines:

Geoff Weaver Wines is a family-owned wine business, established in 1982, and run by the former Hardys chief winemaker Geoff Weaver.

One simple thought drives their winemaking; grow grapes of excellence in a site carefully chosen to suit the variety.

The Lenswood region in general, and their site in particular, is beautifully suited to make wines of power and finesse with its cool, even temperature spectrum which allows full flavour development combined with high retained acid levels crucial to the making of fine savoury table wines.
