Jever Pilsener is a Friesian pilsner brewed in Germany, pale gold with a tall, dense white head.

It's known as one of Germany's more bitter pilsners, and that shows: the hop bitterness is firm and lingers well past the swallow, with a dry, almost austere malt base that doesn't try to soften it. The body is light and carbonation is brisk, keeping the whole thing feeling clean rather than heavy, right to a long, dry finish.

Serve it properly cold in a tall glass. Drink it fresh - this is not a beer that improves with time in the cupboard, and that bitterness is sharpest young.
