The Curatif Piña Colada is a ready-to-drink rum cocktail from the Melbourne producer, packed in a 130mL can at 14.7% ABV. Built on Appleton Estate Signature and Ron Colón Salvadoreño rums with real pineapple and coconut, it lands closer to a bar pour than the thin, syrupy versions the style is known for.

Pour it out and the aroma is ripe pineapple first — the sweet, slightly caramelised flesh near the core — then coconut cream, a lick of vanilla and a warm molasses edge from the rum. The palate follows through with juicy tropical fruit up front, coconut filling out the middle, and enough funk and spice underneath to remind you there are two rums doing the work.

Texture is the making of this one: creamy without being heavy, with fruit acidity cutting across the coconut so it never turns cloying. The finish is medium, faintly toasted, and carries a dry rum warmth that tidies up the sweetness and leaves you reaching for the next sip.

Serve it very cold over crushed ice in a short glass, ideally with a wedge of fresh pineapple. It handles salt and chilli well.
