Poco Loco 2025 is Rusden's dry rose from the Barossa Valley's Vine Vale sub-district, made in a pale, savoury style rather than the confected pink of mass-market rose. It is built for drinking young and drinking easily, showing a delicate salmon-pink hue in the glass.

Strawberry and red cherry lead, with a dusty, spiced undertone and a faint note of watermelon rind. The nose is light rather than jammy, with a touch of dried rose petal that adds a savoury lift.

The palate is dry and crisp, with fine texture and a clean, refreshing finish that never tips into sweetness. Acid is the driving force, keeping the wine taut from the first sip to the last, and the finish carries a subtle saline note.

Serve it well chilled with charcuterie, a seafood platter, sushi or simply on its own on a warm afternoon - this is a rose that asks nothing of the occasion. It is equally at home poured at a barbecue or alongside a light salad lunch.

Drink it within the next twelve months while the fruit is at its brightest and the colour has not begun to fade.
