Harry's Bar is home of the Bellini - invented in Italy in 1948 by Giuseppe Cipriani who is the head bartender and owner of Harry's Bar in Venice.

The name was given due to the shade of pink from the cocktail which reminded Cirpriani of the colour of a saint's toga in a painting by Giovanni Bellini.
