Ink Dry Gin (NSW)

700mL / Australia

Category: Spirits
Sub-Category: Gin

Set to raise eyebrows, Husk Distillers have created a disruptive gin with a beautiful and luxurious royal blue colour derived from the natural infusion of specially prepared butterfly pea flowers.  The curious floral ink, traditionally used in cuisine as a herbal infusion and in ayurveda, is pH sensitive, changing colour to a soft blush pink when mixed with tonic water, lemon or lime juice.  It adds a subtle astringency that leaves the palate crisp and clean.

The other fourteen botanicals were carefully selected and measured to ensure harmony wtih the floral ink.  Husk Distillers gave the traditional flavour of juniper berries a distinct Australian twang with locally grown Lemon Myrtle, Tasmanian Pepper Berries and fresh organic Valencia Oranges all contributing to the dominant character.  Playing supporting roles, cinnamon, coriander, cardomom, licorice, angelica and oris root, elderflower, lemon peel and the exitic bois bande provide balance, aroma, fragrance and spice.

Ink Gin's colour-changing properties, citrus and floral profile, and ability to mix superbly in traditional cocktails make ia versatile and innvoative gin.
