Product Overview

Domaine de Durban is owned by the Leydier family who took over the Domaine in the mid 60s. It is regarded as one of the leading producers of Muscat de Beaumes de Venise and is the personal favourite of Tom Stevenson, editor of Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia. Durban has recently built a new winery which houses the production of the red wines of Beaumes de Venise which in 2005 were awarded Cru status. 

Tasting Notes

The Muscat expresses itself with finesse. Delicate flavours tingle the tongue with notes of pear and apricot.

Winemaking Notes

Traditional. In stainless steel tank at 15°C, bringing a volume of 7 to 10% neutral alcohol, to limit fermentation to a density of approximately 1050 so that at least 110 grams of sugar remain per litre.

Fermentation: In concrete and stainless steel tank prior to filtration
