Paolo Scavino Barolo DOCG (2018)

750mL / Piemonte / Italy

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: Red wine

Paolo Scavino Barolo DOCG 2018 is a red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy. It is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Barolo denomination, and is aged for 10-12 months in oak barrels.

The wine has a beautiful ruby red color with garnet reflections, and its nose is intense with aromas of cherries, raspberries, and violets, along with spicy notes of black pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, it is full-bodied with well-structured tannins, balanced acidity, and flavors of red fruits and spices that linger in the mouth.

This wine pairs well with hearty meat dishes, especially red meat and game, as well as aged cheeses. It is recommended to decant the wine for at least one hour before serving to allow it to fully open up. The wine has aging potential of up to 20 years.

The Paolo Scavino winery is located in the heart of the Barolo area, and is known for producing high-quality wines that reflect the terroir of the Langhe hills. The winery practices sustainable viticulture, and their grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure only the best fruit is used for their wines.
