Ellena Giuseppe Langhe Nascetta DOC (2016)

750mL / Piedmont / Italy

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Nascetta is an autochthonous Langa white grape.

This rare variety was very popular until the end of 1800 when it was pretty much abandoned until it was rediscovered about 10 years ago - there are currently only 10 hectares throughout the world.

Vineyard:

The Western exposure Paradiso vineyard in La Morra spreads over 0.35 hectares - originally planted in 2007, the calcareou / clay soils located at 260m above sea level produce enough to make 1500 bottles of Nascetta a year.

Winemaking:

Cold maceration for 80 - 100 hours, pressing and vinification at controlled temperature (14 - 16°C) in stell vats for about 10 days.

The wine is then aged on lees in steel tanks for approx 6 - 9 months.
