Main & Cherry Fiano (2025)
750mL / Adelaide Hills / McLaren Vale / Australia
Main & Cherry's Fiano 2025 blends fruit from the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale, pairing the Hills' natural acidity with the texture McLaren Vale's warmer sites bring to this variety. It is a light gold in the glass, with a faint richness visible before the first sip is even poured.
Almond, pear and honeysuckle lead the nose, with a savoury, nutty note running through the palate, and a faint spice that surfaces once the wine has had a moment to open in the glass. The dual-region fruit gives it both freshness and weight, sitting between a crisp white and a fuller-bodied style, with texture building steadily across the middle of the palate.
The finish is dry, with the nutty, almond character lingering longest, and a faint brightness left behind by the cooler-climate component of the blend.
It pairs well with roast chicken, grilled fish or a herb-heavy salad, versatile enough to suit lighter and slightly richer dishes alike.
It is at its best within a couple of years of release, while the interplay between the two regions' fruit is still fresh and distinct.
