Tumblong Hills Table of Plenty Fiano (2025)
750mL / Gundagai / Australia
Table of Plenty Fiano 2025 is grown at Tumblong Hills' Gundagai vineyard in the South West Slopes of New South Wales, a region whose elevation suits this southern Italian white well. It is a dry, textural wine that trades on savoury weight rather than pure fruit, pale gold with a faint green edge in the glass.
Nashi pear, white nectarine and a nutty, almost almond-like note define the aroma, with a faint honeyed quality that never tips into sweetness. There is a subtle chamomile-like lift that becomes more apparent as the wine warms slightly.
The palate is broad and textural, with a slightly waxy mouthfeel and moderate acidity that gives the wine roundness rather than sharpness. The finish is dry with a gentle bitter almond note, and the texture lingers pleasantly after the swallow.
Fiano's textural weight makes it a good match for roast chicken, seafood pasta, or dishes built around olive oil and herbs. It also suits a simple plate of grilled calamari with lemon.
Drink it over the next one to two years while the texture is at its most expressive.
