Wangolina Fiano (2025)
750mL / Limestone Coast / Australia
Wangolina's Fiano 2025 is grown on South Australia's Limestone Coast, a maritime climate that gives this southern Italian variety a fresher, more linear character than its warmer homeland. It is a dry white with real textural interest, without ever feeling heavy, pale gold in the glass.
Nashi pear and white nectarine sit alongside a nutty, almond-like note and a faint honeyed edge. There is a subtle chamomile-like lift that adds further complexity as the wine opens.
The palate is broad but kept in check by fresh acidity, finishing dry with a gentle bitter almond note typical of the variety. The sea-cooled site keeps that texture honest, with acid doing the work rather than residual weight.
Serve it with grilled seafood, roast chicken or dishes built around olive oil and fresh herbs. It also suits a simple prawn and lemon risotto, or a plate of marinated white anchovies with crusty bread.
Drink it over the next one to two years while the texture is at its most expressive and the honeyed edge has not softened further.
