Cusumano was created in 2001 by brothers Alberto and Diego Cusumano. The estate was originally purchased by Francesco Cusumano two decades earlier, but the grapes were sold to other wine producers.
Guided by consultant winemaker Mario Ronco, the Cusumano wines are made from 100% estate grown grapes from 4 different territories throughout Sicily. Most of the wines are made from indegenous Sicilian grape varieties.
The Cusumano Shamaris is made from 100% Grillo harvested from Tenuta Monte Pietroso near Monreale. It was fermented and aged four months on lees in stainless steel tanks.
