Domaine Dupasquier Jacquère (2022)

750mL / Savoie / France

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Domaine Dupasquier Jacquère 2022 is a dry white wine from Savoie in eastern France, bottled at 750mL. Made from Jacquère, the workhorse white grape of the Alps, it's the sort of bottle to open when you want something light, clean and easy to drink without much fuss.

Expect a pale, bright wine with aromas of green apple, lemon pith and a faint chalky, almost saline edge. The palate is dry and lean rather than fruity, with crisp acidity carrying through to a short, brisk finish. There's very little weight to it, which is the point — it refreshes rather than fills.

Serve it well chilled, around 8 to 10 degrees, in a standard white wine glass. Jacquère from Savoie is the classic partner for cheese fondue and raclette, though it works just as well with oysters, grilled whiting, a plate of charcuterie, or on its own on a warm afternoon. Drink it young while the acidity is at its liveliest.
