Wangolina Pinot Gris (2026)

750mL / Limestone Coast / Australia

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Wangolina's Pinot Gris 2026 comes from the Limestone Coast in South Australia, a maritime region whose cool nights keep this variety fresh rather than the softer, flabbier style it can fall into in warmer sites. It is a dry white with more zip than weight, pale straw in colour with a faint copper blush.

Nashi pear, green apple and a touch of white flower define the aroma, with a faint spiced note in the background. There is a subtle honeysuckle lift that becomes more apparent with a little air.

The palate is light to medium-bodied, with crisp acidity and a clean, dry finish that avoids the heaviness some Pinot Gris can show. There is a gentle textural quality through the middle that keeps the wine from feeling thin.

It works well with light seafood, chicken salad or a simple antipasto spread - food that will not overwhelm its delicate profile. It also suits a simple pear and prosciutto plate.

Drink it over the next one to two years while its freshness is at its peak.
