Fiegl Pinot Grigio Villa Dugo (2022)

750mL / Friuli / Italy

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Bright and intense straw-yellow hue.

Delicate floral notes accompanied by intense aromas of white fruit, Williams pear and green apples followed by notes of citrus fruit, cedar, and lemon.

The lively palate offers lime, green apple skin and mineral alongside racy acidity.

The Fiegl family have been growing grapes since 1782 in Oslavia (close to Slovenian border in Collio within the famed wine region of Friuli between the Alps and the Adriatic sea), renowned for some of the finest whites in Italy.

Brothers Alessio, Giuseppe and Rinaldo now run the company consisting of 30 hectares of land, 25 dedicated to vineyards.

This beautiful countryside with crystal clear mountain water, hillside plantings benefit from warm days moderated by cool breezes from the Adriatic and chilly nights thanks to proximity to the Alps, making for a long, cool growing season.

The soil also plays an important role – it is rich in clay (known as "ponca") and it's composed of arenaceous and marly stratifications from the Eocene period.
