A result of the refining of the domaine’s selection of young plants and plots, Pauillac, Château Lynch- Bages’ 3rd wine, was created in 2009.
This wine, which has benefitted from the same cultivation practices employed across the vineyard and the same level of care than during the winemaking process, is defined by its resounding Pauillac character, typical of its terroir and marked by the predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon.

The vintage

The winter brought mild temperatures. These mild and relatively dry weather conditions affected bud break of the different grape varieties, which was early to normal depending on the terroir: 25 March for the Merlot and 30 March for the Cabernet Sauvignon. Flowering and fruit set were heterogeneous due to variations in temperature and rainfall. Summery and even scorching temperatures in June underwent a hydric stress during the summer. However, the vineyard was not damaged as important rainfalls replenished water reserves from the end of October until the beginning of December 2018.

Harvest began on 23 September with the fully mature Merlot plants. Occasional showers fell during these early days, which did not affect harvesting conditions and proved extremely beneficial for the fi nal ripening of the Cabernet grapes. Harvesting ended on 9 October.

Tasting notes

The 2019 vintage presents a beautiful purple and shiny color and offers fruity and toasted notes, a characteristic nose of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Frank and supple in the attack, the palate is smooth with a silky tannic structure which gives it a nice balance based on freshness.
