The palate is medium to full-bodied, with firm, grainy tannin running the length of it, and enough fruit concentration underneath to balance that grip rather than being dominated by it.

The finish is long and dry, closing on tannin rather than fruit, which points to a wine with real cellaring potential ahead of it still.
