Harewood Estate Denmark Pinot Noir (2022)

750mL / Great Southern, WA / Australia

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: Red wine

The Harewood Estate Denmark Pinot Noir has been produced from fruit grown in the maritime subregion of Denmark in the Great Southern of Western Australia.

This wine is a blend of several blocks of Pinot (clones D5V12, 114, 115 and 777) growing in our two vineyards in the cool-climate, maritime region of Denmark, Western Australia.

The Harewood vineyard, planted in 1988 is the slightly warmer site of the two and is complemented by the higher altitude Apricus Hill vineyard, planted in 1995, with sweeping views over William Bay and the imposing Southern Ocean to the south and Mount Lindesay to the north.

Unfined and unfiltered at bottling to capture the subtle nuances, this wine is a soft, fruit-driven and aromatic expression of cool climate Pinot noir.

Color: The wine shows a light crimson with hints of purple.

Nose: A lifted nose of red cherry and strawberry is complemented by earthier, mushroom characters and spicy French oak.

Palate: Vibrant flavours of raspberry and ripe strawberries are balanced by more complex notes of spice and truffle with a creamy mid palate. The wine finishes with hints of mocha and redcurrant acidity supported by gentle tannins and toasty French oak.

Vegan friendly.
