Shaw + Smith Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir is a wine of delicacy and fragrance, with fresh acid, and subtle layers of flavour and texture.

Open and expressive on the nose, with red fruit and spice.

Bursting with flavour on the palate, with cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, toasted spices, and flowing through to firm but very fine tannins on the finish.

Remarkable intensity for a wine so light on it's feet.

Winemaking:

Sourced exclusively from Shaw + Smith's Lenswood property.

Planted in 1999, the vineyard has east and west facing aspects and reaches 500 meters above sea level.

The soil is brown loam over clay with some broken shale and stone ridges.

Whole bunches were chilled overnight, then pressed, before fermentation in new and used 500L French oak puncheons.

The wine spent a further 10 months in barrel with gentle stirring.
