750mL / Bourgogne / France

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: Red wine

Domaine Faiveley's Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru is a red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Clos des Cortons vineyard, which is a monopole of the estate. The 2017 vintage was particularly good for red Burgundies, with a warm and dry summer leading to ripe and concentrated grapes. The wine was aged for 16-18 months in oak barrels, 70% of which were new.

On the palate, this wine is full-bodied and powerful, with ripe red and dark fruit flavors of cherry, blackberry, and plum, as well as notes of spice, tobacco, and earth. It has firm tannins and a long finish, making it an ideal candidate for cellaring. This wine pairs well with rich and hearty dishes, such as roasted or braised meats, game, and mushroom-based dishes.

Domaine Faiveley is a historic family-owned winery located in the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or region. The estate has been producing wines for over 180 years and is known for its dedication to quality, traditional winemaking methods, and attention to detail. Today, the winery is run by Erwan Faiveley, the seventh generation of the family to lead the estate.
