2020 Marchand & Burch Bourgogne Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes:

A shortened élevage and use of seasoned oak ensure that fruit is at the forefront of this youthful and vivacious Pinot Noir. Dark cherry, red currant, beetroot, and rose hip tea lie atop layers of savoury notes ranging from toasted nuts to roasted game and damp earth creating a complex and interesting amalgam. Fine grain tannin gathers towards the front of the palate locking in notes of dark stone fruits and berries, the midpalate is resplendent with stewed raspberry and blackberry. A tart blood orange acidity lends freshness that counteracts the creamy, viscous texture. Ripe dark fruits, spicy undertones, and hints of charry oak and cocoa powder create an appealing wine designed for easy enjoyment in its youth.
