Emmalene Emmalene Pinot Noir (2025)
750mL / Adelaide Hills / Australia
Adelaide Hills nights keep the 2025 Emmalene Pinot Noir fine-boned and firmly in the red-fruit spectrum, rather than pushing it toward anything darker or riper.
Red cherry and cranberry lead, with a light dusting of spice adding some complexity without weighing the nose down, and a faint dried rose-petal lift that shows once the wine has had a moment to open. The palate is silky and light, staying true to that same bright red-fruit profile from start to finish.
Tannins are fine, acidity is the main structural feature, and the finish is delicate rather than powerful; this is a pinot built for elegance over concentration. It's a wine that shows its best character with a little air rather than straight from a cold bottle, the red-fruit lift only really opening up once it's had a few minutes in the glass.
It suits salmon, duck breast, or a mushroom-based dish where its savoury, earthy undertones have plenty to meet.
Drink it over the next two to three years, while the fruit stays bright and the delicate structure is still intact.
