Lethbridge Chardonnay (2022)
375mL / Geelong, VIC / Australia
Tasting Notes:
Fresh Peaches, quince, vanilla spice, and a touch of cream wound together with zesty acidity.
Lethbridge Chardonnay can be enjoyed now and should develop over the next 5-10 years in the cellar, retaining acidity and the phenolic fruit flavour developing into roast nuts and baked nectarines.
Winemaking:
Fruit was whole bunch pressed and barrel fermented in 100% new French oak barriques.
Matured on lees for 11 months in 40% new oak.
About Lethbridge Wines:
There are few tales as impressive as that of Lethbridge Wines. Ray Nadeson and Maree Collis were both successful medical researchers before succumbing to their desire to create a vineyard and winery in Geelong.
They planted vines on their own rootstocks, built a straw-bale winery and house, and farmed the land according to biodynamic beliefs. Their wines are powerful, structured, pure and long-lived.
