The Stefani Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 is Alkimi's site-specific expression of Yarra Valley chardonnay, grown on one of the region's cooler elevated blocks.

White stone fruit and grapefruit lead, with a flinty, mineral edge running underneath - restrained rather than broad, in keeping with the modern Yarra style. Judicious oak use lets the site speak rather than the winemaking.

The palate is taut and linear, with fine acidity carrying the fruit through to a clean, savoury finish.

Pair it with a simple grilled fish, roast chicken, or fresh shellfish - dishes that won't compete with its precision.

Drinking well now, with the structure to hold for another three to five years.
