Nashdale Lane Sauvignon Blanc (2025)
750mL / Orange / Australia
Nashdale Lane's Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is grown at altitude in Orange, where cooler nights temper the variety's tropical exuberance and keep the acid firm. It sits closer to a restrained, citrus-driven style than the more overtly tropical Sauvignon Blanc of warmer regions, while still keeping plenty of fruit character.
Passionfruit, lemongrass and cut grass lead the nose, with a herbaceous lift typical of the variety, a faint gooseberry note and a hint of white flowers. The palate is bright and zesty, tropical and citrus fruit balanced against crisp acid rather than one dominating, with good length for a wine this fresh.
Dry and light-bodied, the finish is clean and lively, with the acid doing most of the work and a faint herbal note lingering well after the glass is empty.
It pairs naturally with fresh goat's cheese, a green salad with citrus dressing, grilled prawns, a simple ceviche, or a plate of fresh asparagus.
It is best enjoyed young, ideally within its first year, while its fruit and freshness are at their brightest.
