Ripe, juicy peaches and lemons mingle with creamy vanilla and a touch of spice.
Delicious and yet quite different - a must try for the gin nut. And keeping it local!
This Hay Shed Hill Block 2 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense blood red with a dark centre. The wine displays ripe berry aromas of great intensity with underlying dusty and earthy characters typical of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Hay Shed Hill Cabernet Merlot highlights the strength of Margaret River in producing medium-bodied, flavoursome and elegant Cabernet blends. Ripe berry fruits and textural tannins showcase this classic wine style. Deep crimson red of good intensity and vibrant hue. Intense berry fruits, cassis and chocolate mint characters notes with background cedar like oak. Medium bodied, this wine shows a vibrant and lively fruit driven palate with a fleshy middle and soft mature ripe tannin.
Dense dark red to black colour of great intensity. An intense and rich bouquet led by the ripest cassis and berry fruits, rich and opulent but brooding in its youth. Behind the primary fruits are distinctive vineyard characteristics of dark chocolate and mint. The oak is background cedar which will recede further as the fruits emerge with some bottle age.
Dark, deep purple in colour and has a brooding and perfumed bouquet. The palate is rich, layered and textured - really fills the mouth with its immense power and weight, but retains its finesse with long, soft integrated tannins. This wine will cellar and improve for 8 - 10 years, but equally appeals as an immediate drink.
Vibrant red/black colour with a deep opaque centre. The nose displays a complex blend of violets and spicy black pepper notes of the Shiraz with the more savoury licorice aromas from the Tempranillo. Shiraz and Tempranillo are wonderful partners; two old varieties coming together to make a new vibrant blend.
Pale straw colour with fresh green tinges. The bouquet is fresh and clean with classic grassy elements typical of this region but with a lemony minerality distinctive to this block. The nose is more complex than most SSB blends with an underlying toasty nuance. The palate is bright and fresh with vibrant citric, gooseberry and lychee-like flavours, all at a level of intensity greater than expected.
The oak is almost impossible to detect other than it adds a textural dimension to what is normally a simple fresh and lively wine style. This wine has an amazing palate extension with the flavour lingering to a clean ultra dry finish.
