St Henri is a time-honoured and alternative expression of Shiraz, and an intriguing counterpoint to Grange. It is unusual amongst high quality Australian red wines as it does not rely on any new oak. Released for the first time by Penfolds in the early 1950s (first commercial vintage 1957), it gained a new lease of life in the 1990s as its quality and distinctive style became better understood. Proudly, a wine style that hasn’t succumbed to the dictates of fashion or commerce. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters with age. It is matured in an assortment of old large vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character. Although a small proportion of cabernet may sneak into the blend, the focal point for St Henri remains shiraz.

?Full bodied, generous, ripe, rich and soft. Showing stewed, almost candied fruit characters of blackcurrant, boysenberry, blueberries and cherry. The mid palate is spicy with black pepper and charcoal.

The finish is long, soft and clean showing a clove like recurrence and nutty backbone.

Crisp and elegant Chardonnay with citrus fruit, subtle oak, and a long, satisfying finish.

Picardy Shiraz ia an elegant, complex, rich, cool climate style wine, this variety is exceeding expectations and will continue to improve through cellaring.

Deep and dark in personality a dense core of spicy fruit, excellent complexity and fine, powdery tannins.

This is a multi-layered wine which shows the best of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Intense bouquet of complex dark red fruits, herbs and spice. The aged Sparkling Red base gives the wine nuances of raisin and a soft, mellow texture. It has been made to be delicious on release but will age for a long time in the cellar.

Ripe blackberry and plum, with a hint of spice. Festive fizz and a deliciously dry finish.

Organic, unfiltered, no sulfites - give this wine a little air and enjoy the brusk aromas, flavours and tannins!
