The unctuous luscious wine coats the mouth with an explosion of exotic and intense fruit including yellow peach, quince, green melon and a wonderful lemon butter nuance. There is a long spicy note before it finishes with a lingering and refreshing green mango character and lovely minerality.

The wine is a Tawny Port in style although older and more concentrated that many Portuguese Tawny Ports. There is a huge array of characters in this fortified ranging from walnut, cherry, toffee, molasses, caramel, cumquats and marmalade.

The true threat however of this wine lies in the zesty, vibrant lemon and lime sherbet notes, which ensure that we are left salivating and returning ever so quickly for more. Liquid gold!

This Vintage Fortified Shiraz by d'Arenberg has a very deep black appearance with a wonderful crimson deep cherry red hue. Intense aromas of ripe, blackberry fruits, liquorice appear first followed by prune-like notes with deep spicy plum pudding characters.

The aromas are quite refined; wild blackberries mingle with red summer fruits and herbal notes. Given ten minutes in the glass, these characters take on riper notes of blackberry and blackcurrant with edges of black tea and dried provincial herbs. The palate is firm and elegant with fine acidity. With time red cherry, cranberry and a hint of tamarillo build into the mid-palate.

The Dalrymple Ouse Pinot Noir has classic Pinot Noir aromas of spiced raspberries, baked rhubarb and cranberries - the palate is soft and fresh with fleshy plum, spices and fresh acidity, with fine, silky tannins that persist with fruit well after the finish.
