Dark cherry and plum skin come first, followed by crushed dried herbs, black tea and a faint whiff of turned earth. In the mouth the fruit is compact and a little brooding, with sour cherry and blood orange acidity keeping things lively, and a peppery, almost gamey edge running underneath.
romatically it opens on morello cherry, cranberry and a little pink peppercorn, with a leafy, almost sappy note underneath that reads as high-altitude Pinot Noir. The palate carries strawberry and rhubarb through the middle, then turns drier and more savoury towards the back, picking up dried thyme and a faint whiff of woodsmoke.
Juicy red berries and spice dance with earthy notes in this elegant, cool-climate Pinot.
Great concentration with intricately woven layers of sweet red and blue/black fruit, dried herb and distinctive earthy flavours complementing a highly focused palate with great intensity and length
This award winning Pinot Noir is both sophisticated and “classic”, expressing intensity and poise from great sites in Central Otago.

The wine shows bright raspberry, pomegranate and red currant fruits as well as cherry pit and rose petals. The palate is fine and chewy with more red fruits as well as cinnamon, mace and clove characters. It is precise and well defined. While the wine is not intended for long term cellaring it will benefit from 3 to 5 years rest.
