Produced by François Labet (of Clos de Vougeot's Chateau de la Tour), this versatile Mediterranean Pinot Noir oozes personality. The vineyard is located on the east coast of Corsica's Haute-Corse department, at 400-metres altitude above the town of Ghisonaccia. Rather unlike the treatment for his red Burgundies, François Labet fully destems the fruit for this wine and then ages it two-thirds in tank and one-third in French oak before bottling.

There is a jubeyness with fleshy boysenberry and dark cherries but also a dry finish too.

Layers of flavour wash over the mouth but also words like elegance and finesse and complexity are evoked when tasting this wine.

The 2023 Frederick Stevenson Piñata opens with a vibrant nose of red cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate, accented by hints of rose petal, white pepper, and crushed herbs. On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied, showcasing a juicy core of red fruits, lively acidity, and fine, chalky tannins. The finish is fresh and energetic, reflecting the wine's minimal intervention approach and the blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.

The 2023 Frederick Stevenson Grenache offers a vibrant nose of deep plum, black cherry, and sweet raspberry, underscored by subtle herbal and floral nuances. On the palate, it is plush and juicy, with red fruit flavors leading into a fresh, lively acid line. The wine's structure is supported by fine tannins and a mineral edge, reflecting its origin from 80+ year old vines in the Krondorf subregion of the Barossa Valley. This expressive Grenache showcases elegance and drinkability.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and juicy, showcasing a rich core of dark fruit flavors, lively acidity, and fine, chalky tannins. The finish is fresh and energetic, reflecting the wine's minimal intervention approach and its Eden Valley origin. 

Using grapes sourced from prime East Coast grape-growing regions, in particular Freycinet, this wine was made by one of Tasmania’s finest winemakers, Julian Alcorso.

The full flavour, smoothness and harmony of this wine make it difficult to enjoy just one glass!
