
Aromatically it leans towards morello cherry and raspberry, with rhubarb, crushed violet and a hint of forest floor sitting underneath. The palate follows the perfume closely: red berries first, then a savoury turn through blood orange and dried thyme, with a faint peppery lift.
Full bodied with explosions of blackberry and currants with ripe tannins and vanillin oak.
Hugo Wines Grenache is produced from old bush vine Grenache planted in 1951.
The palate has volumes of clean fresh vibrant and juicy red berry fruit flavours of cherry, strawberry and raspberry, with delicate spice and Turkish delight flavours, complimented by fine silky tannins and a wonderful soft vibrant finish.
Rich cherry and dried herbs, with a savoury, earthy edge. Firm tannins, long finish. Needs a hearty meal.
Lovely garnet colour and a bouquet of spice and cherry characters.
Rich savoury pinot characters which will flourish with a few more years of bottle age.
