A collaboration between the Gil family of Jumilla, Bodegas Godeval and Jorge Ordoñez, Bodegas Avanthia is located in the mountains next to El Barco de Valdeorras. The estates vineyard holdings include 35 year old Godello vines planted on terraces on the precipitous slopes of the region composed of metamorphic slate. Two parcels of 75-85 year old Mencia complete the vineyard parcels planed on decomposed black slate and quartz at around 500 metres above sea level. Exciting wines from a very exciting terroir, the estate produces a range of wines including arguably the finest Godello in the region and a delicious, structured Mencia.
