?Full bodied, generous, ripe, rich and soft. Showing stewed, almost candied fruit characters of blackcurrant, boysenberry, blueberries and cherry. The mid palate is spicy with black pepper and charcoal.
The finish is long, soft and clean showing a clove like recurrence and nutty backbone.

Galatrona is Petrolo’s most acclaimed wine, a Merlot cru made exclusively with grapes from the Galatrona-Feriale vineyard planted in various phases during the 1990s with low vigor Bordeaux clones. The unique microclimate allows the concentration of the noble components of the grapes that are fundamental for the great structure, elegance, balance, and persistence that has made Galatrona one of Italy’s most coveted wines.
One of our favourite Pinot Noir's from a family of wine gurus.
Philippa had big shoes to fill - and boy has she done it - delicious, smooth, elegant with layers of taster pinot.
Superb and a must try.

Lifted aromas of sour cherries and wild raspberries spill from the glass and as the wine opens, more savory herbal aromas begin to shine, leading to a bright and refreshing palate with notes of red currant, wild herbs and dried roses.
Carefully pitched creamy, leesy notes add complexity without detracting from the main event. The cooler vintage (and just 12.5 % alcohol) drove light-on-its feet elegance whilst still achieving ample mid palate depth with subtle honey and almond notes.
A cavalcade of attractive tropical fruit notes here: guava, passionfruit and some lime, interwoven with acid drive that gives the wine a vibrancy and length rarely seen in its contemporaries.
